Traditional dress of                      India

Indian traditional dress is one of the most beautiful cultural dresses . It is a vibrant reflection of the country's diverse culture, history, and regional variations. And Indians are identified by the traditional dress like sarees .In India there are 28 states and they have their own traditional dress. Like an elegant saree, suit salwar, kurta pyjama, each garment holds cultural significance and is often associated with specific occasions and communities, a way to connect with heritage and a source of pride. 

Diversity in Traditional Attire:

Saree: Saree is one of the most likable Indian dresses which every Indian and also some foreigners like this dress very much. The saree is a traditional garment, a long unstitched cloth draped elegantly around the body, often with a blouse and petticoat.

Salwar kameez:The Salwar Kameez is a traditional South Asian outfit consisting of a tunic (kameez), trousers (salwar), and a scarf (dupatta). It's a versatile and comfortable garment, popular for both casual and formal wear across various occasions. 

Lehenga Choli : It is a beautiful dress of India that Indians commonly wear on shadi or other special occasions . It became popular in the 16th century. And it is also my favourite dress. 

And there are many other famous Indian dress. 

History of Indian traditional dress

The history of Indian clothing spans several millennia, with its earliest roots in the Indus Valley Civilization, where cotton was among the first fibers to be cultivated and worn. Over the centuries, Indian attire evolved significantly, influenced by the Vedic period, the grandeur of Mughal aesthetics, and the impact of British colonial rule. Traditional garments such as the sari and dhoti have remained central to Indian identity, while regional diversity has led to a rich and varied textile and fashion culture across the subcontinent.
